A Christmas tale

Californian governor Gavin Newsom has asked for residents to be mindful when leaving out the traditional plate of cookies and milk for Santa after a series of incidents last festive season that derailed deliveries.

Some rascally residents left out their edibles for Santa who suffered some unfortunate mishaps after visiting the golden state back in 2022 and sampled the goodies. Air traffic controllers following Santa’s flight path found that Santa became spatially confused and for a period of three hours was circling the great state before landing on Jim McGurtles roof in Oxnard to fridge surf. Mr McGurtle reported that his kids were shocked to find Santa in the kitchen.

This year the elves have taken action to prevent another mishap like last year and have banded together to force Santa to bring all cookies and brownies back to the North Pole rather than him eating on the job. It’s all about safe sleigh operations.

In the past some larrikins left out booze which explains Rudolph’s red nose and the rise of Burl Ives songs in the 60’s and 70’s. Given the increased awareness of operating a magical flying sleigh under the influence of drugs and alcohol officials are concerned that a mid-air incident could occur. If Santa was to be found guilty of an airborne sleigh incident it could seriously impact Xmas gift deliveries on a scale only seen by Aust Post.
